I anledning af Kulturos kommende udgivelse med temaet Død vil Kulturoskribent Runa Johannessen fredag den. 8. marts give et kig ind i grænsedragningernes elastiske politik og fortælle om, hvordan manipulation af grænser i den palæstinensisk-israelske konflikt finder fysisk form.

Modsat kartografiens stramt optegnede linjer er virkelighedens grænser en elastisk størrelse. I den territorielle konflikt mellem Israel og Palæstina er grænserne på landkortet ikke blot en forhandling om, hvor grænsen mellem de to lande skal trækkes op, men også noget, der materialiserer sig rumligt som juridiske og politiske zoner. De er demarkationslinjer, der streges op, skubbes og trækkes i; på den ene siden rent fysisk ved hjælp af arkitektur og infrastruktur – mest iøjnefaldende gennem separationsmuren – og på den anden side gennem politiske og juridiske definitioner af, hvem der befinder sig inden for – og hvem der falder uden for visse rettigheder.

Arrangementet indgår som led i IKK-festivalen og vil finde sted fredag den 8. marts kl. 14-15 på Københavns Universitet (KUA), bygning 21, stueetagen, lokale 19.

Runa Johannessen (1978) er Ph.d.-studerende ved Københavns Universitet, Institut for Kunst- og Kulturvidenskab, med en baggrund som arkitekt fra Arkitektskolen i København, 2008. Hendes forskning kredser om sammenhængene mellem territoriel konflikt og rumlige konfigurationer i palæstinensisk kontekst med en grundlæggende interesse for, hvordan det politiske kommer til syne gennem arkitektur og planlægning. Hendes kommende udgivelse ‘Nekroarkitektur – Eliminering af livsgrundlag som krigsstrategi’ kan læses i Kulturo #35.
